My Story

Nourishing Minds was founded by Dina Blackman, a dedicated advocate for health and wellness with a Master’s degree in Nutrition Science. As a mother of three children—one in high school and two in college—Dina has seen firsthand the challenges young adults face in maintaining healthy eating habits amidst the demands of academics, extracurricular activities, and social pressures. Watching her own children and their friends struggle with busy schedules, reliance on processed snacks, and the pressures of social media, she felt inspired to create a program that directly addresses these obstacles.

Grounded in research and informed by her passion for empowering others, Dina developed Nourishing Minds to provide practical tools, peer support, and accessible resources tailored to the unique needs of college women. The program is built on evidence-based theories like Social Cognitive Theory and the Health Belief Model, ensuring it not only educates but also motivates lasting change.

At its core, Nourishing Minds is about more than just healthy eating—it’s about fostering confidence, building community, and helping young women establish habits that will support their well-being for years to come. With a focus on sorority members, Dina has created a program that acknowledges the pressures of appearance-driven cultures while promoting a balanced and sustainable approach to wellness.
